- Couach is pleased to announce the signing of contracts for two new motoryachts, as well as serious negotiations for a third vessel’s sale. The two confirmed yacht sales are for the 1100 S and 1900 models from the new Mediterranean line, which has been completely designed and developed in-house by Clement Carbonne.
Based on many elements that represent a return to the company’s original inspiration and motivation from founder Guy Couach, the models in the Mediterranean range are comfortable and refined, yet conceal a surprising degree of performance for their size. Further details of the range will be released in the coming weeks.
“We are delighted with the reception that our Mediterranean range has received from our client base,” said Couach President and CEO, Walter Ceglia. “Our focus is and always will be on providing superb yachts that are true to Couach’s design DNA and heritage. Drawing on unmistakable hallmarks from Guy Couach’s original yachts, this range of smaller boats delivers the standards that clients have come to expect from our Couach teams.”
COUACH 1100 S
With a deep-V hull and a distinctive “Couach outboard” style, the entry-level, 11.40 metre 1100 S is a soberly-designed, sporty yacht with an efficient layout. Drawing on the expertise of Couach’s renowned naval architecture department, which regularly supplies highly seaworthy boats to the military worldwide, the 1100 S has been created with pleasurable and fast cruising in mind, particularly in shallow waters, such as those found surrounding the small islands of Arcachon Bay, on the Couach shipyard’s doorstep.
Conceived as a comfortable day boat, the 1100 S has every possible feature an owner could need for a fun day out on the water with friends and family. There is a large sunbathing on both the bow and the stern of the boat, while the centre console’s helm has a protective hard top and comfortable seating area.
Aft of the helm, double facing sofas are positioned either side of two removable tables, while additional lounging spaces are provided forward and aft, looking out over the stern and on a sun pad forward of the helm console, accessed via the walk-around teak side decks.
An outdoor galley area is conveniently position on the starboard side of the helm console, while a door in the port side provides access to a day head with shower, leading to a double cabin beneath the foredeck.
The 1100 S is propelled by powerful twin outboard engines and a fuel tank of 770 litres. Delivery is planned for summer 2018.
COUACH 1900
The first model in Couach’s Mediterranean range with a flybridge, the 1900 is the largest boat in the line. With an overall length of 19.55 metres, it has been designed to deliver seaworthiness and practicality in equal measure to flexibility and conviviality.
Created with the luxurious finish and chic French design for which Couach’s larger yachts are renowned, the 1900 has a low and sporty, tapered profile that assures a timeless style. It draws design cues and unmistakable hallmarks of Guy Couach’s iconic 195 Fly yacht, of which more than a dozen are still in use today.
On the main deck, vast windows ensure that the open layout of the interior feels spacious and light, enhanced by the cut-outs of the adjacent exterior bulwarks of the hull. The interior space of the main deck incorporates a helm and large dining-saloon area, including a U-shaped sofa and further chairs at a table across from the second sofa (convertible into a double bed) and concealed flatscreen television to the starboard.
Moving aft, the large, open-plan family style galley is conveniently located between the two dining spaces, both exterior and interior, ensuring convenient flow for guests and crew. Similar to the summer kitchens found in Mediterranean kitchens ashore, the “roof” window between the galley and the cockpit to the aft can be fully opened to allow easy, convivial communication between the two spaces during meal preparation.
With direct access to the flybridge, the expansive cockpit is comparable to that of a much larger yacht. Without any visual impairment, the panoramic views and large dining space will be a popular space for any owner and their guests.
Below the cockpit, a large, two-metre-deep swimming platform will be a hive of activity for those who enjoy spending time in and by the water. The space can be adapted to different set-ups depending on owner preference, with freestanding furniture including sun loungers, deck chairs and built-in tables available for customisation.
The yacht’s flybridge is a convivial space that will be popular at anchor as well as underway. It has been designed to incorporate an outdoor galley space, with a large, convertible U-shaped sofa around a table, and a large sun pad for lounging. With seating to the port side of the helm, the skipper will never feel away from the group’s activities.
On the lower deck, three cabins offer accommodation for up to six guests. The full-beam ensuite master cabin features double wardrobes and a bathroom, while a VIP double cabin below the foredeck includes double wardrobes and an ensuite bathroom. The third cabin has twin beds, a wardrobe and bathroom.
Designed to be operated by a crew of up to two professionals, with easy maintenance and operation never far from the designers’ minds, there is ample storage for marine equipment and accommodation for the crew below the aft deck.
Powered by twin Volvo 900hp engines, the Couach Mediterranean 1900 has a 4,000-litre fuel tank. The yacht’s high fuel capacity means owners can comfortably cruise large portions of the Mediterranean in comfort and stile – taking in major cities, islands and attractions – on a single fuel tank without the need to stop and refuel.
