After her recent sale, the 50m M/Y JO I has a new Owner, an updated name, and a refreshed feel as she prepares for the upcoming charter season in the Mediterranean.
Under the command of a new Captain and crew, she is available for charters this summer with Camper & Nicholsons and is looking forward to delivering the incredible experiences that have made her one of the most popular charter vessels on the water.
Originally launched in 2004 from the Italian shipyard Benetti as JO, she is widely regarded as one of the best family yachts for charter — in 2011 she was named 'Best Family Charter Yacht' by Superyacht World.
Her new Owner has lost little time in embarking on upgrades to bring her design in line with his tastes and to ensure she is equipped with all the latest technology in preparation for the coming season. Investments are being made in new furniture and décor, as well as her onboard entertainment and communications systems. An extensive selection of the latest water toys will also be available for guests to enjoy.
The onboard features that helped build her reputation will remain unchanged: generous interior and exterior volumes, a configuration that encourages guests to spend quality time with each other, and a dedicated, attentive, and friendly crew.
Other amenities include a spacious sun deck with a large Jacuzzi and a six-stateroom arrangement that includes a cabin that can be configured as a double stateroom with en suite shower room. She can sleep 12 guests with a ratio of one crew member per guest.
Her Captain Nikolaos Leontitsis joins the vessel after captaincy roles onboard S/Y Maltese Falcon and S/Y Xasteria, two exclusive Perini Navi sailing yachts and popular charter vessels. “Onboard JO I, new and repeated charter guests will find a friendly team with lots of energy. They will also find refreshed interior and exterior spaces, upgraded equipment, and new ideas about all the beautiful locations to discover throughout the Mediterranean,” he says.
Continuing on her family-friendly legacy, he continues: “We are ready to take care of the youngest charter guests with a big smile, fun activities, and safe, suitable equipment.”
From her base in Athens, she is fully available for charter this summer in the Eastern and Western Mediterranean. Her new Owner, Captain, and crew look forward to writing a new chapter in her history.
