Cowes Spring Classics 20 - 22 August. Still time to enter!

Having successfully run the regatta in September 2020 under strict guidelines, we are looking forward to this year’s Cowes Spring Classics being as close to normal as possible (apart from being in summer not spring!). We are ready to welcome the owners, skippers, crew and their fabulous classic yachts for the fourth edition of the Regatta.

With the support of Cowes Harbour Commission, the regatta will again be based at Shepards Marina. We will have exclusive use of The Sugar Store for our evening social events, crew BBQ on Friday and dinner on Saturday, but this year the Sugar Store will be open during the day offering coffee, beers and pizza every day from 11.00 for friends and family not out on the water.

The racing, organised once again by the Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club, will be as published in the Notice of Race (download below) and the Sailing Instructions will be available a few days before the regatta. A Racing WhatsApp Group will be set up so that competitors can receive all communications from the Race Team.

We are delighted that the Isle of Wight Distillery will again be supporting the Friday evening Welcome Drinks with a Blue Mermaid Gin & Tonic, and Henri-Lloyd are continuing their support as Official Race Clothing Partner with a range of regatta clothing.

For the social events, the programme will be as follows:

Friday 20 August

12:00 Registration available in The Sugar Store

18:30 Welcome Drinks Reception at The Sugar Store sponsored by Mermaid Gin

19:00 BBQ at The Sugar Store with live music until 22:00

Saturday 21 August

10:30 Race 1 Warning Signal followed by Race 2

16:00 Bar open in The Sugar Store

19:30 Dinner in The Sugar Store followed by live music until 23:00

Sunday 22 August

10:00 Race 3 Warning Signal followed by Race 4

15:00 Return to Shepards Marina

16:00 Prize Giving at The Sugar Store

17:00 Yachts depart

Cowes Spring Classics wouldn’t be possible without the amazing support of our sponsors so we would like to say a big thank you to the British Classic Yacht Club, Classic Marine, Ratsey & Lapthorn, West System, Medina Yard, Mermaid Gin, Solent Wealth Management, Classic Boat, Shoreside Lettings, Henri-Lloyd and Crew Kit.

Cowes Spring Classics welcomes a wide range of classic boats, big and small. Yachts invited to join the regatta include: Cruisers & Cruiser Racers, Gaff Rigged Yachts & Pilot Cutters, Day Boats & Raters, Classic Metre Yachts plus Modern Classics. So if your boat is ready and you’re keen to get out on the water we’d love you to join us at Cowes Spring Classics in August and entry to the regatta couldn’t be easier with our secure online entry and payment system.
