Morris 51 - For the offshore sailor

For the offshore sailor, the Morris 51 provides an incredibly strong hull. Her construction takes advantage of the inherent strength of sandwich composite construction; the hull uses vinylester resin exclusively, all fiberglass is unidirectional, and areas potentially subject to impact are additionally reinforced with Kevlar.
Despite a primary emphasis on strength and safety, the ultra-modern techniques employed in her construction resulted in a half load of approximately 180 – enabling her to achieve speeds of 10 – 12 knots when driven hard.
At the end of a great day on the water, owners can retire to a private stateroom forward complete with queen size center-line berth, significant storage, reading lights, an overhead hatch, and a private head and shower.
The heart of the interior is the main salon. Friends and family will lounge and dine comfortably in the starboard side wrap-around dinette with its plush cushions. The gorgeous cherry pedestal table will accommodate place settings for eight. Opposite the dinette is a full length settee providing additional space for lounging after dinner.
Whether cooking a full-course dinner or prepping a picnic, the U-shaped galley on the starboard side is comprehensively equipped a three-burner gimbaled propane stove, 12-VDC refrigeration with separate freezer, Corian countertops, polished SS double sink and hot/cold pressure water.
As is true of all Morris yachts, the Morris 51 exhibits the finest craftsmanship available from any boatbuilder. The interior makes use of lightweight composite panels where appropriate for weight savings, yet the fit and finish, selection of wood grains, and attention to detail are in all respect the very best available.
