Turkish boutique yacht designer and builder Mazu Yachts is ready to wow Monaco Yacht Show with its new superyacht tender – 42 walk-around to be on display at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show 2017 (September 27-30, 2017).
Since 2011 Mazu Yachts has been designing, producing and marketing luxury ‘hard-top and open’ motor yachts, known for sleek and aggressive looks and made with cold-molded system. The company stands out for ‘hand-crafted art of superyachts’ due to its building technique, which gives the hulls extra strength and lightness.
MAZU 42 WALK-AROUND
The largest Mazu’s model to be shown, the new 42 walk-around, to be delivered early August 2017, has an overall length of 11.99 meters and a maximum beam of 3.7 meters. The center console, perfectly protected by a real modern superstructure, leaves room for two ample lateral walk-arounds. The yacht has a freeboard that is high enough to allow safety movement on deck even while at sea in combination with sportive profile with and military twist overtones.
On-deck comfort is assured by the ample sun bathing area near the stern, while forward the cockpit is complete with a V-shaped settee and a second settee forward of the console. The size of the aft platform has allowed the yard to create a true seaside terrace, ideal not only while at anchor but also when moored to the jetty, facilitating coming aboard and going ashore. The presence of a mobile kitchen with Gaggenau appliances ensures leisurely and pleasurable times when at anchor.
Two 435 hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 give the Mazu 42 walk-around a top speed of 47 knots, with a cruising speed of 32 knots.

WHY THE NAME MAZU?
Mazu is the indigenous goddess of the sea who is said to protect fishermen and sailors, and is invoked as the patron deity of all Southern Chinese and East Asian persons. Born as Lin Moniang (Chinese: 林默娘; pinyin: Lín Mòniáng; Peh-ōe-jī: Lîm Bek-niû; Foochow Romanized: Lìng Mĕk-niòng) in Fujian around 960 CE, worship of Mazu began around the Ming Dynasty, when many temples dedicated to her were erected all across Mainland China, later spreading to other countries with Southern Chinese inhabitants.
